5 tips to get the most out of your home workouts

       I’m on a money saving mission this year & i’m paying off college debt so I cancelled my gym memberships!  I am doing workouts from home right now using the BBG STRONGER guide via the SWEAT app…I wanted to give some of my tips from experience on how I keep my momentum when i’m working out at home, because I know it’s not always easy to stay focused!

5 TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR HOME WORKOUTS

1. Make game plan

What are you going to do? Do you have a workout plan or an app that you’re going to use? Quickly review the workout so you know what to expect for the most part and what you will need, such as dumb bells or a kettle bell, modifying is fine but being unprepared is just another excuse to stop the momentum.

2. LACE UP
         I mean…unless you absolutely love being barefoot i find that lacing up even though I’m working out at home, makes me realize it’s still time to put in work and I get more motivation from being fully prepared, plus who can say no to cute sneakers lol These are the Ultra Boost 3.0 in STILL BREEZE/SALMON and they feel like clouds!

3. GET IN THE ZONE

         I find that a good pair of headphones helps me get in the zone and tune everything out, for me I live in a small studio so my other half is usually watching TV or trying to get me to look at something every two seconds…lol WHY when we are busy is it the perfect and most exciting time for everything to happen? lol! Make YOUR time more exciting…I’m currently using these PLANTRONICS Back Beat FIT 500 & they are honestly some of the nicest over ear workout headphones that have graced my ears, the connection is AMAZING!

4. REMEMBER YOUR WATER!

Two things here, I didn’t say “don’t forget” because it’s a double negative and essentially you’re going to block that out of your subconscious mind and completely forget about whatever it is you wanted to remember LOL! so REMEMBER your water because if you start working out without it you’re going to have to pause your workout & take your sweaty little self to the kitchen and lose momentum once again. SO, my advice is to make sure you have some cold water on hand close by! I’m absolutely loving this TAKEYA water bottle because it’s durable enough to hang with me! HAH

5. DON’T GIVE UP

           No, seriously I know you think no-one is watching and no-one will know if you stop a little short…but, honestly you’ll know. You will be the person that gets cheated & that’s all that really should matter to you. SO with that being said, it’s ok to curse your way through it, or even take breaks. My one rule for myself and for YOU is MODIFY TO FINISH, you won’t always be able to feel the BEST but you can certainly always DO your best!
